Nick was elected to the Lloyd’s Market Association Board in 2001, sitting on the Underwriting and Claims, and the War, Civil War and Finance Guarantee Committees. He spent 30 years in total in the Lloyd’s Market before joining Liberty Syndicates as Chief Executive Officer in 2007. Nick joined the Board of Cogent in May 2019, having retired as President and Group Managing Director of Liberty Specialty Markets in 2017.

Mark began his career as a Marine and Energy Broker in Lloyd’s before moving to the Middle East to run the captive insurance business of a major regional conglomerate, gaining valuable experience of placing risks into the Lloyd’s Market from overseas. After three years in the Middle East, Mark returned to the UK and joined Cogent, rising to Managing Director of the Non-Marine division. Mark was appointed CEO of Cogent in 2001.

Duncan qualified as a chartered accountant after reading PPE at Oxford. He has worked in a variety of financial management and control roles in financial services, corporate finance, property development, automotive and aerospace component manufacturing before joining Cogent in 2003. He was appointed Finance Director in 2004.

Andrew joined the board of Cogent in 2019 having spent 40 years in the Lloyd’s Market with specialist expertise in the energy sector. He founded Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co in 1998 and, after its sale to JLT in 2007, became Chairman of JLT Specialty before moving to Arthur J Gallagher in 2011. He joined the Board of London International Insurance Brokers Association in 2012 and was Chairman from 2016-2018 and Chairman of Gallagher Specialty until 2018.
